Virat Kohli’s Unbeaten 94 Helps Team India To Defeat West Indies In Hyderabad Opener

Mumbai: Making his strong come back Indian skipper Virat Kohli proved why he is known as a run machine.

The series opener against the West Indies as India defeated the Kieron Pollard-led side by six wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Chasing a huge target of 208 runs in 20 overs, Kohli took the front for the Men in Blue and was unbeaten with Shivam Dubey, who won the first T20I in Hyderabad in a three-match series to take a 1-0 lead.

India’s previous highest successful run chase had come on December 12, 2009, when they chased down a 207-run target against Sri Lanka.

Kohli’s match-winning knock off 94 that came in just 50 balls. Kohli’s masterclass was laced by 6 fours and 6 handsome sixes which turned the challenging chase into an absolute child’s play for the hosts.

With the loss of only 4 wickets, India easily won the 1st T20 of the ongoing three-match opera at home. The second T20I of the three-match series will take place on Sunday.
