Was Disturbed To See People Celebrating ‘Telangana Encounter: Jwala Gutta

All four people accused of gang rape and murder of a young veterinarian were shot dead by the police in Telangana on Friday

Mumbai: Shuttler Jwala Gutta said on Saturday that she was really upset to see people celebrating the encounter of four accused of rape and murder of a veterinarian in Telangana.

She also said that she was relieved that some people still shared her concerns.

“Yesterday I was so disturbed n disappointed to see the kind of celebrations which took place that I just couldn’t sleep. But also relieved to see a lot of people who showed the same concern as me-I just hope we all stand united and not lose trust in our constitution and judiciary,” Gutta tweeted.

Ever since the police action, there have been different views. While some have opposed it, others have said that justice should be done through the legal process.

According to police, the four accused men taken into custody were being taken to the scene of the crime when they tried to escape and were shot.

Commissioner of Police of Cyberabad V. Sajanar said, “Accused Mohammad Arif, Naveen, Siva and Chennakeshvulu were killed in a police encounter in Chandanapalli, Shadnagar between 3 am and 6 am today.”
Police said she was brutally gang-raped and murdered by a veterinarian on November 27 at Shamshabad in Telangana before burning her body. His body was recovered on 28 November.
