We Trust Each Other And Have A Great Friendship: Dhawan On His Opening Partnership With Rohit

Mumbai: Indian cricket openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have record-making opening partnership. Both pairs have helped India to get a good start from the first over itself  following which Dhawan in a live session said, “We trust each other and have a great friendship.”

Dhawan was doing an Instagram live session on the official handle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals and was then asked to talk about his initial partnership with Rohit.

“I have known Rohit since U-19 days. He was a junior for a couple of years and we have camped together. We trust each other and have a very good friendship. It works for us. Both know each other’s nature and character. I know exactly what he is like. It is a proud feeling that we have done so well for India, “said Dhawan.

“It brings you positive energy and when everything is in sync, whenever I have a problem with my batting, I ask him. Strong communication is going on between us. We travel 230 days a year together. That’s why the whole team is a big family,” he added.

Rohit Dhawan so far has been successful in 16 opening partnerships of over 100 runs and they are joint-second with Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden in the most hundred-run partnerships in the list led by compatriots Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly (21).

Dhawan would be in action for the Delhi Capitals when the Indian Premier League (IPL) started on 29 March.

However, the tournament has been postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus Pandemic.
