World Cup Far Away, Need To Focus On Present, Not Scared Of Any Team: Sharma Ahead Of Series-Decider

Mumbai: Indian Cricket team vice-captain Rohit Sharma said they are not thinking too much about building the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup and want to focus on the present.

“This (World Cup) is still a long, long way and we just need to focus on winning the series. If we keep winning the game and keep doing the right things on the field, the team’s composition will handle itself.” , ”Sharma said at the pre-match press conference

“I think if we focus on the present that will help us more than anything else and I think our focus right now is on winning the game and try to stay in the present and see what mistakes we are making. So that when we come out and play every fresh game, we look like a different side, “he said.

Well the decider against West Indies 3rd T20 will take place tomorrow in Wankhede.

India won the first T20I by six wickets but suffered an eight-wicket defeat in the second T20I against West Indies.
Speaking on upcoming decider, Sharma said, “We are not scared of any team. Like I said they were good on that particular day and they won the game, as simple as that. If we are good, we know we can win any game at any given condition.

“They have got some power-hitters right from the top to the end. It is a good challenge for our bowlers to bowl against a team like that where you know every second ball they are going to come and try to hit six,” he added.

Sharma called the West Indies an ‘unpredictable’ team and praised the captain’s innings for favouring Rekha

“They are very unpredictable as a team. You never know if they can come up with something like that the other day. Even in the first game, they played very well and it was Virat’s talent that gave us Millie. But with the West Indies, it is always expected and they play well as a team, “he said.
