World Number 2 Osaka Knocked Out Of Olympics By 42nd-Ranked Vondroušová

Mumbai: World number two women’s tennis player Naomi Osaka of Japan has been knocked out of the Tokyo Olympics after losing in the women’s singles third round.

Czech Republic’s Marketa Vondrosova defeated Osaka 6-1, 6-4 in straight sets. In the first set, it looked like Osaka did not bounce back and managed to win just one game and Vondrosova eventually won it 6–1.

The Czechs took charge in the second set and did not allow their home favourite Osaka to return.

In the end Osaka lost the match in straight sets. Earlier on Sunday, Wimbledon 2021 champion Ashleigh Barty was out of the women’s singles.
