Mumbai: Gautam Gambhir – the Indian left-handed batsmen retired from all formats of cricket in last year, December. Some speculations were ongoing regarding his joining of IPL after post-retirement.
However, all the speculations came to an end with the news that Gambhir Joins BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He has recently joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
Gambhir joined BJP in the presence of Arun Jaitley and expressed his altogether happiness in it.
He is looking forward to doing good for the country and is confident of giving his best. “This is a fabulous platform for me to do something good for the country, and I am sure I will do my best. Got inspired by PM Modi and his vision. I am honoured to get the opportunity to join this platform,” he said.

Also, Jaitley welcomed and honoured him saying that the party tries to induct the people who have achieved excellence in their respective fields.
“A very important induction into the party. We try to induct people who have achieved excellence in their own fields. Gautam Gambhir’s past does not show him to be a Pakistan sympathiser,” he said in welcoming the cricketer who brought India all the laurels in 2007 and 2011 World Cups.
