“Jo Bhi Hua Bohot Bhayanak Hua,” Maneka Gandhi Slams Hyderabad Police

Mumbai: While the whole nation is celebrating the encounter of 4 men accused of veterinarian doctor rape-murder, BJP leader Maneka Gandhi on Friday slammed the Uttar Pradesh police for the killing of four men accused in the Telangana gangrape-murder case and said it set a “horrifying” precedent for the country.

“Jo Bhi Hua hai bohot bhayanak Hua hai is desh ke Liye (What happened was horrifying for the country)… You cannot kill people because you want to. You cannot take law in your hands, they (accused) would have been hanged by court anyhow,” the former union women and child development minister told reporters in Parliament complex.

Early morning today the Hyderabad Police killed all 4 men in an encounter. The four were taken to the crime place to the recreation of the crime and they tried to escape the report stated.

“They did not stop even when asked to surrender. As a last resort, the police had to shoot at them, killing them on the spot, ”the officer said on condition of anonymity.
