Maharashtra: Woman Kills Her Daughter Later Commits Suicide Due To Economic Stress
Mumbai: In a shocking incident, Police said a woman allegedly killed her daughter and then committed suicide in the Jawhar area.
According to the police, the deceased woman Mangla was from a tribal community. She lived with her husband Dileep Janu and daughter Roshini.
Dileep was a daily wage laborer and was out of work for the last three months due to an outbreak of coronavirus.
According to police, it appears that due to the poor economic condition following the coronavirus lockdown, the woman stepped in to murder her daughter and commit suicide.
According to police, on June 24, the woman hung her daughter on a tree with a sari. She then hanged herself as well.
After receiving the report of the incident, the police sent the bodies for postmortem.
A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
