Night Curfew Imposed In Pune, Lockdown In Akola School Colleges Shut Till 31st March

Mumbai: A night curfew has been imposed in Pune amid an increasing number of coronovirus cases in the region along with other parts of Maharashtra. The curfew will be imposed once again in Pune from 11 pm to 6 am.

Schools and colleges will also remain closed till March 31 amidst the latest spike in coronavirus cases while hotels and bars will remain closed from 10 pm to 6 am.

Malls and theatres in Pune will also be closed during the night curfew from 10 am to 6 am. Gardens will be closed in the evening.

For Akola, the administration has announced a complete lockdown from Friday evening. Akola will see lockdown starting 8 pm on Friday till 8 am on Monday.

Yesterday, a complete lockdown was imposed in Nagpur from March 15 to March 21 due to a rise in Coronavirus cases. Notably, only essential services such as vegetable and milk shops will be permitted during the lockdown period.

According to official figures, 14,317 new coronavirus cases were reported in Maharashtra on Thursday, the largest one-day spike of the year, taking the state’s caseload to 22,66,374. There are 1,06,070 active cases in the state.

Meanwhile, the ministry said that the situation in Kerala is improving and informed that COVID-19 cases operating in the state have almost doubled in the last few days while cases in Maharashtra have doubled.
