Rishabh Pant Ruled Out Of Second ODI Versus Australia

Pant's availability for the third and final ODI against Australia will be based on his response during the rehabilitation protocol

Mumbai: Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant won’t be a part second ODI against Australia which is scheduled to play on 17th Jan at Rajkot.

While Pant has been discharged from the hospital after overnight surveillance under a specialist doctor, Southwest has been ruled out of the Rajkot ODI match and will have to go through the union rehabilitation protocol at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Pant did not appear as an opener in the series against Australia at the Wankhede Stadium in the second innings, batting with Cummins’ bouncer. Pant recently received a consolation during the inspection of the medical staff of Team India as per the new rules of ICC.

The young glove-wearer was taken to the hospital for overnight monitoring after which he was declared stable with all scan reports addressing further complications. Pant has been discharged from the hospital and will now head the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru where he will undergo his rehabilitation protocol.

In particular, Pant’s availability for the third and final ODI against Australia will be based on his response during the rehabilitation protocol.
