Stephen Fleming Defended Dhoni After Altercation With Umpires

Mumbai: Stephen Fleming on the post-match presentation after CSK’s skipper MS Dhoni took over the controversy said that he was just trying to get clarity about the delivery bowled in the last over.

“The umpire at the bowler’s end had given a no-ball whereas after that a confusion arisen after the square leg umpire denied to call it a no ball. After that Dhoni wanted clarity for his team, so he took the opportunity to go out in there and discuss it with the umpires,” Flemming said.

“But he was fired up over the decision the way it was handled and why it was turned over. So there was a lack of clarity, so obviously went out to get the clarity for him as well as for everyone out there,” he added.

The incident took place after Dhoni’s dismissal at the last over by Ben Stokes and in the same over at the third last delivery which was bowled brought about the controversy.

CSK was chasing a target of 152 set out by the hosts Rajasthan Royals and at the end however chased it, but Dhoni for his action was fined 50 per cent of his match earnings.
