There’s No Clause In CAA That Takes Away The Citizenship Of Muslim In India: Amit Shah

Shah's remarks are bound to raise eyebrows in the backdrop of a vicious attack by masked people on students and teachers on the JNU campus on 5 January

Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He argued that 70 per cent of the refugees in India from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who would benefit from the newly amended citizenship law, hail from the Dalit communities.

“70% of these refugees are Dalits. I want to ask the protesters who are against the CAA – how will you benefit from demonstrating against these Dalits? The anti-CAA is anti-Dalit, “Shah said during the BJP’s nationwide Ran Jan Jagran Abhiyan in Karnataka.

He slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee and others over their resentment to the citizenship law. He dared them to prove that CAA is “anti-Muslim”.

He kept the people of Gandhi family in solitude and challenged them to read CAA fully. Shah further said that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi would argue with him if he finds something that is against the Muslim community in the amended Citizenship Act.

“I challenge Rahul Gandhi … read CAA fully, if you find anything that takes away the citizenship of Indian Muslims …. Our Prahlada Joshi (Minister of Parliamentary Affairs) to argue with you Are ready, ”Shah said.

Shah’s remarks are bound to raise eyebrows in the backdrop of a vicious attack by masked people on students and teachers on the JNU campus on 5 January.
